Rooney and Giggs out of Man Utd clash
Manchester United have ruled Wayne Rooney out of their Champions League clash against Valencia tomorrow.
A statement on the Manchester United website said that, while the injury is not serious, he would not be considered for the trip to the Mestalla Stadium.
It's the latest blow for United who will also be without long-term absentee Antonio Valencia, and Ryan Giggs, who was ruled out with a hamstring problem at the weekend.
The absence of Rooney may not be such a bad thing for Sir Alex Ferguson. It saves him a selection headache and may allow him to line-up with one striker and five midfielders to stop the Spanish side playing.
United may choose to start with Dimitar Berbatov as a lone striker, after he impressed in a similar role in their 3-3 draw against Everton.
