Man Utd and Arsenal let Chelsea off hook

Chelsea remain odds on to retain the Premier League title at the end of matchday six after their Manchester United and Arsenal both failed to make the most of the opportunity the Blues presented by dropping their first points of the campaign with a 1-0 loss to Manchester City.

Arsenal were stunned 3-2 at the Emirates by promoted West Brom, who missed a penalty at 0-0 then stormed into a 3-0 lead in one of the most shocking results in recent Premier League history.

Carlo Ancelotti probably couldn't believe his luck about that result but things got even better for the Italian on Sunday when Manchester United had to make do with a point at the Reebok Stadium, with Bolton leading twice only for Nani and Michael Owen to maintain the Red Devils' unbeaten start.

Chelsea can currently be backed at [1.9], which of course presents an attractive lay price to punters who expect another stutter at home to Arsenal next Sunday. Manchester United are next up at [3.9], while Manchester City ([10.5]) are creeping up on the Gunners ([9.0]), having equalled their points haul.

The only top-flight team besides Sir Alex Ferguson's yet to taste defeat are Fulham, with Mark Hughes showing that there's life after Roy Hodgson at Craven Cottage.

The seventh-placed west Londoners are still [2.52] to finish in the top half, though Sparky will want to cut out the draws - the points have been shared in 13 of his last 17 league games as a manager.
