Blanc admits interest in coaching Man Utd
One of the leading foreign contenders to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson when he one days leaves Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ([24.0]), left his post as reserve team boss to take charge of Norwegian club Molde, however another has shown interest in the position, Laurent Blanc ([34.0]).
The one-time Red Devils centre back has made a promising start to his managerial career, ending Lyon's seven-year domination of Ligue 1 with Bordeaux and then guiding the club into the Champions League quarter-finals, before things turned a little sour in his final few months.
The 44-year-old has since taken charge of the French national team, who face England in a friendly at Wembley next week, and despite being handicapped by a number of players being handed bans by the French Football Federation, he has led them to the top of their Euro 2012 qualifying group.
When asked if he would like to succeed his former coach at Old Trafford, and in doing so become Manchester United's first ever manager from outside the British Isles, he said: "I could be attracted."
Would the Frenchman be a worthy candidate? Have your say in the box below...
