Best odds on Betfair on Man Utd's 1-0 loss
Sir Alex Ferguson always played down talk of Manchester United replicating their treble success of 12 seasons ago but for those that believed, there can't have been a more painful way to have their dreams crushed than with an FA Cup semi-final loss to a club they mock for lacking silverware.
Manchester City were 1-0 winners against their neighbours and fiercest rivals at Wembley and any Betfair punters that had £10 on the scoreline won back £104.50 - even accounting for the maximum five per cent commission - whereas Ladbrokes and Stan James customers gained just £70.
Betfair was also the place to be for wagers on Saturday's Premier League six-pointer between Blackpool and Wigan in which the Latics triumphed 3-1 to escape the relegation zone. A £10 flutter on Roberto Martinez's side returned £275.50, compared to £190 with BetClic and Bwin.
The other big match at the bottom saw West Ham beaten 2-1 at home by Aston Villa to fall below Wigan in the table and the shrewd bettors that had £10 on the visitors winning the claret-and-blue derby by that scoreline claimed £118.75, while Victor Chandler and BetClic users pocketed only £90.
There was also more money to be made betting against other people on Betfair in the Football League, with one example being Preston's 3-1 victory over Sheffield United. Those that had £10 on that earned a £175.75 profit, as Blue Square punters were forced to settle for just £120.
Don't take our word for it though, why not test Betfair yourself using Betchecker?
