Manchester City tracking two youngsters
We reported yesterday that Roberto Mancini's suggestion that he needed two or three more players had sent the media rumour factory into overdrive again - and there's no let up today with talk of one signing that is almost completed and another potential big-money buy heading to Eastlands.
Manchester City have again been linked with Israeli playmaker Gail Assulin, the 19-year-old who was labelled the "new Messi" earlier in his career, before injuries led to him leaving Barcelona this summer. However, the Daily Mirror are claiming that the free agent could join them imminently.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT have revealed that there's speculation over in Spain that Mancini is also keen on Sporting Gijon defender Jose Angel Valdes, even though he is not currently a first-team regular at the La Liga club.
The 20-year-old has been capped by his country at Under-21 level, and Spanish radio station Cadena SER suggest that Gijon would be looking for a fee of around £15 million for the player who is under contract until 2014.
