And that was another week in football...
Whenever Craig Bellamy gives an interview you know something interesting will probably be said - this week was no different. Elsewhere, we have Fabio Capello putting his foot in it, and David James' words coming back to haunt him...
Diplomat of the week
"There are a number of players, like Carlos Tevez and me, who Mancini doesn't speak to and keeps us away. He hasn't spoken to me since February. I don't know if it's personal - he is like that with a lot of players, so maybe that's his manner." Craig Bellamy is typically blunt when discussing his falling out with Roberto Mancini. But does it mean his Man City career is over?
Least surprising development of the week
"I have to choose 25. The rest must find another team. Craig is out of the list." That would be a 'yes' from Mancini then.
Goodbye of the week
"I say thank you very much for helping me at the World Cup, but probably he is a little bit too old." Fabio Capello dismisses the People's Prince with rather less tact that expected. At least he got Franco Baldini to give him a call...
Didn't see that coming of the week
"If it hadn't been Steve Coppell I would have ignored it straight away. It wouldn't have worked any other way." Okay, so this was said a few weeks ago, but David James' remarks are certainly worth repeating in the wake of Coppell's resignation.
