The forum's verdict on Liverpool's run-in

Can Liverpool still finish in the top four this season? Is sixth as good as it gets for now? Are the Reds capable of beating Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday? Here's what the Betfair football forum expects of them in the closing weeks...

"I think Liverpool to finish in the top four ([23.0]) is a fair bet. Obviously it could be dead in the water immediately with Liverpool having to face Arsenal at the Emirates, but I think they can get a positive result. They've struggled for consistency all year, but I think they will have been boosted by Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll leading the line so well against Manchester City, so can see them finishing the season well and going unbeaten.

"Spurs and Man City have to play one another, and I can see that being a stalemate...I can see Man City limping over the line, but watching them against Liverpool left me thinking that they could falter, they looked so flat...they are going to be facing two relegation candidates who will hopefully scrap for everything, and Everton and Bolton away, who have been showing an upturn in form." - coolhand

"For Liverpool to finish fourth, they have to make up eight points over two teams in six games, which would require them to play at a level of consistency they haven't shown all season (or last season) as they'd need to win five or their last six games at least. Spurs have a fair few tough games and their game with Liverpool could decide where they finish but Manchester City, for all that they can be crap, should win three of their last six and that should be enough." - Pootle

"I would take [5.2] on Liverpool to beat anyone as value, because on their day they can. They have beaten Manchester United, Chelsea home and away, Manchester City at home and drawn with Arsenal already. They are inconsistent but do seem to raise their games against bigger teams. They have a solid keeper, are livelier up front and in better form than earlier in the season. The midfield is not overburdened with flair or goals but can be stubborn. I don't know who will win, but as said, it's closer than price indicates." - REDUNDANT PUNTER
