The forum's Liverpool vs Tottenham tips

Having been kicked out of the fight for fourth by Manchester City, Tottenham are now battling with Liverpool - who have just confirmed Kenny Dalglish as manager for the next three years - for fifth, and know that defeat at Anfield could prompt a scrap for sixth with Everton. Can they turn things around? Here's what the posters on the Betfair football forum think...

"That (Tottenham's 1-1 draw with Blackpool) was poor, and Spurs have produced a few displays like that at different times this season. Liverpool have as well though, even since Kenny Dalglish has been there. Both teams can produce a high level of performance on their day though, and are clearly closely matched, so odds of [2.2] to [2.4] for Liverpool and [3.2] to [3.8] on Spurs would make sense, and you could argue about the precise odds . But [1.82] and [5.1] suggests Liverpool are a level above Spurs, which is just absurd.

"This is a classic example of overrating the most recent form. Liverpool have played very well in their last four or five games but not long ago they followed an away win at Chelsea with a home draw with Wigan and the easy win over Manchester United with awful displays against Braga, and also lost at West Brom in the middle of an otherwise good run." - tobermory

"The simple truth here tobermory is that at this moment in time, Liverpool ARE a level above Spurs. Look at recent form, Spurs are struggling with just one win in ten, including failing to beat Blackpool twice, Wigan, Wolves and West Brom. In that same period, Liverpool have won at Chelsea, drawn at Arsenal, easily beaten Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle and put five past Birmingham and Fulham. In my opinion, Spurs at [5.1] are a lay all day long here." - Biscuit1979

"Spurs = lay. Spurs have managed one win in 12 in all competitions and have Peter Crouch up top. Liverpool are solid at the back and very high in confidence. I reckon it will be 2-0 ([10.0]) or 3-0 ([19.0]) to Liverpool." - bread

"Harry Redknapp is looking for a first win of his managerial career (28 years) at Anfield." - hippie

"Spurs haven't won at Anfield since 1993 for historians. Eleven home wins and five draws since then." - Regular Fries

"Spurs have won at Anfield three times in the league since the Titanic sunk in 1912. That might be another reason for them being the price they are!" - muttley123
