Regardless of what Damien Comolli might have planned, it seems that Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is still clocking up the air miles in the pursuit of new talent to bring to Anfield.

A story in today's Daily Mail says that Hodgson flew to France yesterday in order to personally run the rule over Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.

The 20-year-old French international is due to play for Les Bleus against England at Wembley on Wednesday, and the Mail's story suggests that the Reds would need to find £15 million to bring him to England.

M'Vila was with Amiens and Mantes as a youth, before joining Rennes in 2009. His success at the club earned him a new contract as recently as August, which tied him to the club until 2014.

Would he be a good addition to the squad? Should Hodgson have just waited until Wednesday to check him out? Let us know with a comment in the box below...
