West Brom linked with ex-England striker
Fulham forward Andy Johnson is one of Roy Hodgson's main summer transfer targets as he looks to build on what is set to be West Brom's best ever Premier League finish, according to the Daily Mirror.
It was the former Liverpool manager that brought Johnson to Craven Cottage three years ago for a figure in the region of £10.5 million and though a series of injury problems have prevented him from fully justifying that outlay during his time in west London, it is believed that Hodgson remains a fan.
The striker, capped eight times by England off the back of his 21-goal debut top-flight campaign with Crystal Palace, is no longer a guaranteed starter for the Cottagers due to the presence of Bobby Zamora, Moussa Dembele and Eidur Gudjohnsen and is reported to be considering a move.
The 30-year-old is thought to be valued at around the £4 million mark but the Mirror don't speculate as to whether his arrival at The Hawthorns would signal a departure for Peter Odemwingie, who is expected to attract plenty of interest after scoring 15 times already in his first season in England.
Both West Brom and Fulham will be delighted with their year's work having both at one stage appeared in genuine danger of the drop, and both are in contention for top-half finishes, while Mark Hughes' side are favourites to claim the Europa League spot now up for grabs in the Fair Play League.
Fulham are currently eighth and may only need a point at home to faltering Arsenal on the final day to secure a spot in the top ten - hence odds of [1.03] on them holding on - while the Baggies have a tougher task, potentially having to win at Newcastle to climb from 11th, so are priced at [2.78].
