Five shock stats about the season so far
Like 90 per cent of betting enthusiasts (we may have made that figure up!) we have an unhealthy obsession with statistics. Here are five of the most intriguing ones we have found so far this season...
Fulham are only the third non-Big Four club in nine years to have got through their first seven league fixtures without tasting defeat, the others being Everton and Aston Villa in 2006-07. The Cottagers are also the first Londoners besides Chelsea and Arsenal to have achieved the feat in the Premier League.
This is the first time in Premier League history that Manchester United have failed to win any of their first four away games, having drawn away to Fulham, Everton, Bolton and Sunderland. None of those matches finished 1-1 either, whereas 60 per cent of top-flight draws not involving the Red Devils this term have.
Brighton have been the joint-best home side in the Football League, collecting 13 points from their first five fixtures at the Withdean Stadium. It's a spectacular turnaround for the League One leaders, who had picked up fewer points than that after 17 home ties in 2009-10.
Defending champions Bayern Munich, who were the Bundesliga's biggest scorers with 72 goals last season, have the worst attack in the entire division seven games into the new campaign having netted only five times. Two of those strikes came in the 90th minute, while another was an own goal.
Espanyol are the only team from the league's UEFA coefficients adjudge the dozen finest in Europe to boast both a 100 per cent home win record and a 100 per cent away loss record, having won all three of their matches in Catalonia and lost away to Villarreal, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.
