The in-play guide to Bolton vs Everton
Here are three pieces of advice that will hopefully help you make money betting in-play on Everton's Sunday afternoon trip to Bolton...
Don't expect much first-half action
There have been 18 goals scored in the last seven fixtures between the two north-west clubs but only five of those have come in the first half of those encounters. All four of the strikes in the two meetings in 2010 not only came in the second half but in the final 20 minutes. That convincing trend suggests that a pre-match wager on under 2.5 goals at [1.9] or maybe even 0-0 at [11.5] is worth pursuing with a view to trading out at half-time or, if you are really gutsy, at around the 70th minute.
Late sending offs are par for the course
Historically, this isn't an ill-tempered clash and none of the nine collisions between August 2005 and the end of 2009 ended with fewer than 22 players on the field. Both 2010 ties featured a dismissal though and on both occasions the red card was shown - fittingly given the above trend - in the 70th minute or later. A small flutter on there being a sending off at around the hour mark - at which point you should get bigger odds than the [5.1] currently offered - is therefore an intriguing option.
Everton are comeback kings
David Moyes' side have trailed in 16 Premier League matches this season and only seven of those have ended in defeat, with their total of nine comebacks being the record in the top-flight in 2010-11. Admittedly, they have fought back to triumph just once however eight draws earned from a losing position is an impressive enough statistic to convince us to lay Bolton if they get the first goal in the game.
