The forum reaction to Everton's shock loss
Has David Moyes taken Everton as far as he can? We're not convinced, but that's the question that Toffees fans are pondering following the latest poor showing of a very disappointing campaign in a terrific debate on the Betfair football forum. Here are some of the viewpoints expressed...
"I don't think it is an overstatement to say that as bad a collective performance I have seen in 30 years of watching Everton... I won't even condemn the crowd, they have every right to vent their frustration. We couldn't do the simple things right today. It's frightening how much we missed Felli wasn't it?" - "Were going to City twice"
"The team don't meet at a hotel the afternoon before midweek games. Are we an alehouse team? We were playing a Championship team and Moyes failed to organise the team. He failed to properly organise them getting to the ground on time. And Moyes failed to motivate his 11 players at any stage of the game. They looked unfit and unmotivated... Moyes has definitely gone as far as he can. He has done a decent job in the league, a laughable job in the cups, has unearthed some gems for no money and generally wasted the big money." - Kenneth Bell Plum
"Embarrassing performance and now our best player is out injured (Fellaini) and has probably played his last game for us!" - mightymoyes
"The "Moyes has gone as far as he can" statement is the biggest joke ever. What other manager can polish turds like Moyes has had to do? Maybe you missed Aston Villa's financial results - a wage bill of over £80 million because Martin O'Neill gave £3 million-a-year contracts to has beens. I'm afraid the Premier League is out of our league and I think tonight is the final straw for many fans and we'll be down to a maximum of 15,000 season ticket holders come next season." - toffee87
"That was one of the worst nights I've ever spent at Goodison. I can't believe how bad they were! Did anyone else see Beckford strolling past the Park End five minutes before kick off in his suit? What a shambles!" - jack0779
"To put in two performances as bad as the Bolton and Reading ones within four games is very, very worrying." - GrahamPollisaliar
"If we had played with the same hunger and desire we had at Chelsea and against Sunderland, we would have won easily. It seems the players lack motivation in certain games and that is down to the manager I'm afraid." - the geek
Will Everton end a poor season in style? They are [5.6] to finish in the top six...

Cheers for the reply. We'd also be inclined to show faith in Moyes, as underwhelming as this season has been, he has done enough in his time at Goodison Park to warrant the trust. It's also not implausible that Everton will finish this season in a decent if not spectacular top-half position.

Yes Moyes has taken us as far as he can ,why ? because in this day and age you need money and we dont have any. It does not matter whether he stays or not his replacement if or when it happens wont have any money either. We can not get any better without investment the question is will moyes want to stay under these restrictions
