No Gray Areas - Everton will be in top six
Once again Everton have made a pretty slow start to the season and Toffees fans could be forgiven for thinking that if they started seasons as well as they finished them, they'd be in contention to actually win the league!
It's hard to explain why they take their time to find their feet every August; it's not like it's in the side's DNA to start slowly. Whereas David Moyes was deprived of a handful of first team players last year he certainly hasn't that problem this time round; in fact he's had virtually every player at his disposal. The truth is his team were sloppy against Blackburn and rather unlucky against Wolves, having dominated the first half. But the good news for Everton fans is that this is a fine squad that Moyes has got at his disposal and I'm sure results will improve sooner rather than later.
You can always pick faults in any squad and say they could do with another player in this position or that, but at the start of the summer the only position I thought they needed another player was upfront and they ended up winning the race to sign Jermaine Beckford. Is the former Leeds man good enough to play at this level? Well it's too early to know at the minute but he's got pace, good movement and had no trouble finding the back of the net in his time at Leeds so he's certainly got the raw materials to be successful in this league.
With Manchester City joining the so-called Big Four and Spurs looking really good once again, a top four finish may be beyond them but I fancy them for a top six finish at [2.6]
