Fulham to extend Everton's winless run
It can't be much fun on Merseyside at the moment, both Liverpool and Everton have had dreadful starts to their season. Both are languishing at the wrong end of the table and have been knocked out of the Carling Cup by teams from lower divisions. Will this be the weekend things get better?
Fulham v Everton
After five games of the Premier League season, Everton are still searching for their first win. A last gasp draw against Manchester United looked to have turned their poor start around, but a defeat against Newcastle United last weekend put them right back to square one. Fulham haven't set many pulses racing, but they are undefeated this season. With both sides fielding strong teams in their mid-week Carling Cup defeats, we fancy a rather stale draw at [3.35].
Liverpool v Sunderland
The Carling Cup defeat to Northampton may not have featured any of Liverpool's big guns, but it can't have done much for moral around Anfield. It's just as well then that they welcome Sunderland to Anfield this weekend - the Reds haven't so much as conceded a goal in the last six meetings between these sides at Anfield. The Black Cats haven't beaten Liverpool away in the Premier League era, and we can't see that happening this weekend. Back Liverpool to win to nil at [2.2].
West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur
Their mid-week Carling Cup win against Sunderland could be just the thing to get West Ham's season up and running. Unfortunately for the Irons, ex-manager Harry Redknapp hasn't lost any of the five games he has bossed at the Boleyn with either Portsmouth or Spurs, and West Ham haven't beaten Spurs at home in their last four attempts. Putting some money on an away win at a generous [2.14] looks worth a flutter.
