Andy's Saturday tips - Everton set for loss

Everton Photo

Arsenal are drinking in the last chance saloon after another disappointing home draw and, for different reasons, you could say the same about their opponents on Sunday. Elsewhere, Manchester United will fancy their chances of picking up three more points at home to Fulham whilst two of my old clubs go head-to-head in the early Saturday kick-off. Those are the matches, here are the tips...

Wolves v Everton

I had David Moyes on my radio show the other day and he was telling me just how disappointed he is with the way things have turned out this season. He really fancied his squad at the start of the campaign and thought this was as good a chance as any to finish in a Champions League spot.

Of course, in football things rarely turn out the way you'd want them to - unless you're lucky enough to be called Jose Mourinho!

Everton's problem is simple. They've played some really pretty football at times, from box to box they're up there with the best, but they've had trouble scoring. Louis Saha has been brilliant when he's played but it's been the sort of season where he's scored a hat-trick one match and then missed the next three through injury.

As a manager, how can you prepare your team when your star striker is absent more often than he's available? Tim Cahill hasn't been the same since his exertions at the Asian Cup either.

Wolves have been inconsistent this season but Mick McCarthy will be telling his players that they're due a performance. This is the sort of match they'll fancy; a home tie against a side who are a little low on confidence and are feeling a tad jaded after a long, injury-ravaged season.

McCarthy will have pencilled this match in as one he feels his team he can win. That might just happen. I've spoken already about how Everton have struggled to score this season and, with Wolves hardly prolific themselves, I don't expect many goals. Bet accordingly.

Recommended Bets:
Back Wolves to win at [2.7]
Back Wolves to win 2-0 at [17.0]
Back under 2.5 goals at [1.83]

Andy's predictions for Saturday's 3pm kick-offs...

Blackburn v Birmingham
This is not the game Match of the Day viewers will be most looking forward to but Blackburn fans would be delighted with a win. I suspect they will get it.
Recommended Bets: Back Blackburn to win at [2.08]; 1-0 at [8.0]

Bolton v West Ham
They've got a big FA Cup semi-final coming up and the odd star player may be missing from the starting line-up but Bolton should have a little too much for a deflated West Ham.
Recommended Bets: Back Bolton to win at [2.28]; 2-1 at [10.0]

Chelsea v Wigan
Home form as solid as Chelsea's gives me confidence in the expected outcome. Another clean sheet could also be on the cards.
Recommended Bets: Back Chelsea to win at [1.24]; 2-0 at [7.0]

Manchester United v Fulham
There's no stat in the book to suggest Fulham will get anything from this match and, with all due respect to Mark Hughes' side, I can't see any way that they will.
Recommended Bets: Back Manchester United to win at [1.51]; 3-0 at [13.0]

Sunderland v West Brom
The Black Cats have a good record in home matches against struggling sides and I think this is going to be an tough day for West Brom.
Recommended Bets: Back Sunderland to win at [2.26]; 1-0 at [9.4]

Tottenham v Stoke
Stoke aren't one of those sides you want to be facing when you're on a bit of a downer. They won't let Spurs settle and I think they can pick up a good point here.
Recommended Bets: Back the draw at [3.8]; 1-1 at [8.0]

Hello Betfair! I'm not in entire agreement with Andy on his predictions for the above games. Here are my predictions;

Wolves 0 Everton 0
Blackburn 1 Birmingham 1
Bolton 2 West Ham 1
Chelsea 4 Wigan 0
Man United 0 Fulham 0
Sunderland 1 WBA 1
Spurs 0 Stoke 1

I've invested in a super heinz on these selections and hope to be considerably richer come Saturday evening.

was mighty impressed with Everton when they scored 2 vs Aston Villa last weekend, then again, its Aston Villa and Notts County could ve scored 2 as well.
If the right Wolves team shows up, its 2-1 for me
Clarissa-dont you think its time for Spurs to score? Whats that? 4 games no goals? Surely, just surely, they will say we are out of the CL, lets go get us a spot next season.
MU 0-0 Fulham is just not happening. MU has scored in both halves except vs Bolton, surely just surely, a goal reckons? GL nevertheless on the Heinze

On hindsight, I have to agree with Clarissa on Man United 0 Fulham 0.
Manyou without Rooney. Also Sir Alec will probably play a weakened side with an eye on Chelsea match. Also Fulham very good defensively with a lot of 0-0s to their name in last 2 seasons.
