Chelsea's loss is Betfair 2-1 backers' gain
For the second season running, Chelsea bowed out of the Champions League with a 1-0 loss at home and 2-1 defeat away, having never been beaten in both legs of a knockout tie in their history prior to Carlo Ancelotti's arrival, and Betfair punters that noted that pattern were handsomely rewarded.
Those that stuck £10 on the Blues falling 2-1 at Old Trafford on Tuesday night gained £99.75 for their shrewdness - even accounting for the maximum five per cent commission - whereas Coral, Victor Chandler, Blue Square and BetClic paid out only £70 for the exact same wager.
Betfair customers were also rewarded the remunerated the most generously for betting that the Premier League table-toppers would lead at both half-time and full-time, with a £20 outlay on such an occurrence providing a £58.90 profit, compared to £50 with Coral, Unibet and others.
There was also more money to be made betting against other people on Betfair on the midweek Championship action, as Cardiff moved closer to the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, pushing the Blades within touching distance of League One in the process.
A £10 flutter on the Bluebirds prevailing 2-0 paid out £118.75, a huge improvement on the £70 won by Ladbrokes, Blue Square and BetClic users.
One example of a struggling overhauling a promotion contender occurred at Pride Park though when Derby completed a double over Leeds with a 2-1 triumphing, earning those who staked £10 on that scoreline £123.50 on Betfair. Ladbrokes and BetClic bettors were forced to settle for £90.
Don't take our word for it though, why not test Betfair yourself using Betchecker?
