The 29-year-old said while attending an Adidas promotional even in the capital: "I want to stay at Real Madrid. This is the truth. I want to stay and play there next season. I don't want to think now about playing in the Premier League or going back to Brazil or going back to Italy.

"I have had a bad two years personally because of the injuries but this year we won the Copa del Rey, reached the semi-final of the Champions League and finished second in the league. Not bad, but I want to do better. I want to be a winner."

The ex-AC Milan man isn't the only galactico predicted to stick around at the Bernabeu beyond the end of the current campaign as manager Jose Mourinho is now [1.2] to stick around for a second season having at one stage been expected to make a swift departure. It is [3.0] that he exits.

Yet while it appears clear that he will lead Real Madrid, doubts remain over who will be in the dugout at Stamford Bridge next term due to the widespread belief that Carlo Ancelotti will be axed. Andre Villas Boas is [1.25] to strengthen his claims by guiding Porto to the Europa League tonight.
