Chelsea facing a fight for Real Madrid man

Earlier this week, we spoke about the possibility of Kaka heading to London this summer and how in such a scenario, Chelsea would be considered favourites to sign him, but it is becoming increasingly obvious that there will be plenty of competition for the former Ballon d'Or winner's signature.

The Brazilian star has failed to have the impact expected since arriving for a transfer record-breaking £56 million in 2009 and hasn't been a regular starter since returning from a lengthy injury earlier this year, prompting speculation that he will be leaving the Spanish capital at the end of the season.

However, the prospect of Chelsea getting a clear run at capturing the 29-year-old galactico has diminished after his former employers AC Milan confirmed that they would definitely be interested in bringing their former hero back to the San Siro if he is available.

Rossoneri president and Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi said on the subject: "Kaka is an extraordinary man. If he wants to come back to Milan we will welcome him with open arms."

It's not just the newly crowned Serie A champions that are anticipated to rival the Blues though, as the Metro are reporting that Manchester City view him as an ideal addition ahead of their first Champions League campaign.

The free newspaper appear to believe that Roberto Mancini is eager to strengthen his squad with another creative player over the next few months and claim that Wesley Sneijder is another creative player.

Will the Citizens have some silverware to show off to prospective arrivals? They are [1.89] to beat Stoke at Wembley on Saturday...
