There's no disputing that at some points in Carlo Ancelotti's year-and-a-half in charge at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have played some of their best ever football, but there have also been occasions this term in which they have been guilty of some of the worst since Roman Abramovich's arrival in 2003.

The Blues are not always the best at bouncing back from setbacks either, their first loss of the season against Manchester City sparking a run in which they collected only 20 points from 16 games. Having had a three-game winning streak abruptly ended by Liverpool, another setback is now probable.

The champions have won the last four west London derbies and triumphed on three of their last four visits to Craven Cottage but this is the first time they are making the short trip to face former player Mark Hughes, who after a slow start has got the Cottagers performing impressively in recent weeks.

Last year's Europa League finalists have won five in a row in front of their own fans and have tasted defeat just once in eight encounters - away to Liverpool - and in those home fixtures they scored 16 goals, including four against Chelsea's rivals for Champions League qualification, Tottenham.

Hurl into the mix the fact that Fulham have only lost three times as hosts so far under Sparky and there is some substance for considering the home win at [5.6] or at least the draw at [3.85], although the soundest option for any Chelsea sceptics is to lay the visitors at healthy odds of [1.78].
