Best odds on Betfair as Chelsea blow lead

It might have been a different story if the Premier League title was still at stake but with Manchester United confirmed as champions on Saturday, Chelsea's home campaign came to a disappointing end on Sunday in what may prove to be Carlo Ancelotti's final match in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Newcastle recovered within ten minutes of falling behind against the Blues in both halves thanks to goals from Jonas Gutierrez and Steven Taylor to earn a 2-2 draw and any Betfair punters that stuck money on that being the final scoreline were handsomely rewarded.

A £10 bet provided a massive profit of £332.50 - even accounting for the maximum five per cent commission - whereas the same wager with Stan James paid out just £200.

Even that sum paled in comparison with the profit registered backing Kenny Dalglish's unbeaten home record back at Liverpool ending in his first game since being given the job full time against Tottenham, as goals from Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric inspired a 2-0 victory for the Lilywhites.

Anyone that staked £10 on Spurs triumphing 2-0 won back £408.50, a massive increase on the £120 that those who placed the exact same bet with Ladbrokes received.

There was more money to be made betting against other people on Betfair than anywhere else on another surprise away triumph at the Emirates, where Aston Villa saw off Arsenal 2-1. A £10 flutter on that outcome returned £266, while Bwin and Blue Square customers had to settle for only £180.

Don't take our word for it though, why not test Betfair yourself using Betchecker?

A CHELSEA PLAYER ANALYSIS:
Players that never were top quality: Ferreira, Bosingwa
Players much slower than they once were: Terry, Essien, Lampard, Malouda, Drogba.
Players that are over-rated: Kalou, Mikel, Zhirkov, Torres.
Players that are under-rated: Benayoun.
Players that are selfish in possession: Torres, Drogba, Anelka, Malouda.
Players that should still have a long future at Chelsea: Cech, Luiz, Cole, Ivanovic, Ramires.
Players that would inspire Chelsea: Subotic (centre back), Van De Wiel (right wing), Neymar (striker).
-If Torres was signed in place of Neymar, the mistake must be corrected quickly.
-A big summer clear-out will be dangerous, but brave changes are needed.
-What about Ancelotti? A win last year, second this year – it’s not bad.
