The best of the Betfair football forum
As ever, there's plenty to talk about on the Betfair football forum, with Owen Coyle receiving a huge amount of praise, Rafael Benitez being defended by Liverpool fans and an argument presented for backing Tottenham to win the title. We've picked out some of the standout comments below...
"Owen Coyle is working a minor miracle at the Reebok. He's turned a team that was painful to watch into a side full of verve and creativity. A lot was posted at the time of his switch about how it would all end in tears for him. Not looking like that now. Sideways move my a***." - Mighty Whites 2008
"I don't think the way he way he left Burnley halfway through a season was very professional. If he'd stayed the season (maybe keeping them up), he could have left as a hero. Having said that, given what he's doing at Bolton, I think he's possibly a top four manager. With Wenger rating him, maybe even Arsenal manager in three or four years time when he steps down?" - Andriy
"He deserves all the plaudits he gets in my opinion. Agree that its early days, but my gut feeling is that he's going to be a bit different myself and make it at a big club. I'd take him at Liverpool tomorrow." - Can't Catch Me
"Rafa needs a break, he should never have took the Inter job. His first five years at Liverpool were truly memorable and fantastic, his last though not so much. He has inherited a team on its last legs. AC Milan, Roma and Juventus all spent big in the summer whereas Rafa didn't. The up-and-comers like Coutinho, Biabiany and Obi are not yet Inter standard, though Coutinho will be class one day." - simoneast365
"Why are Spurs [60.0] to win the league? Man City are [9.6] and they are three points above Spurs. If one team is correctly priced at [9.6] then, with a three-point lead at this stage of the season, a team just as good should be no more than [15.0] surely? So the market considers Man City to be vastly superior to Spurs. What evidence is there for that?" - tobermory
