The forum on Aston Villa's relegation fight

Surprise strugglers Aston Villa are still [8.4] outsiders to go down but a number of Betfair football forum posters - among them several Villa supporters - are unconvinced they will get enough points. Here are a few of the comments being made about their predicament...

"As a Villa fan, I've been over everyone's fixtures loads of times and Blackburn keep popping up as struggling big time. Although Villa must win two and draw two off their remaining games at an absolute minimum and at the moment I can't see it happening." - prepared83

"Villa have too many three point opportunities to pass them all up. They'll secure safety three from home with a win against Wigan at Villa Park. I won't be pretty though." - nonserviam89

"I feel more let down by the experienced players than anyone else at the club including Gerard Houllier, players who were so solid last year, like Richard Dunne, James Collins, John Carew, Brad Friedel, Stephen Warnock, Stiliyan Petrov. Some have acted like petulant kids this season, others have been so poor in the games they've played that they've been unrecognisable, Warnock and Friedel especially. If we survive, I think we will see, and hope to see, a massive clearance of those players." - coolhand

"Let's face it, everyone wants Villa to go down because they are the most boring team in the country with the most whiny fans. I think Wigan are a lay at [1.43], and Blackpool ([2.24]) and West Brom ([3.2]) are the two teams likely to join Villa, who will hopefully finish bottom." - marychain1

"Villa is a strange one. Their manager will get them playing very good attractive football next season but will it be too late? He is a good manager but I think there are too many players going through the motions and not even trying to adapt to his philosophies. If I was a Villa fan, I would be extremely angered by some of their so-called stars or should I say babies spitting their dummies out. To think it used to be a man's game! I would like to see them stay up though." - funlovingexpress

"Any manager that could take a squad like Villa's to the brink of relegation should never work in the game again in my opinion." - Corky
