Albrighton in Liverpool's sights
Aston Villa winger wanted to add ammunition for Andy Carroll.
Aston Villa's Marc Albrighton will be the subject of a big bid coming from Anfield in the summer.
Kenny Dalglish, who is expected to be appointed full-time manager over the summer, is keen to add some natural width to his squad and would welcome the arrival of an old-fashioned winger to provide good service for the head of Andy Carroll. Dirk Kuyt has been used on the right-wing for much of the season but isn't a particularly great crosser of the ball whilst Joe Cole, Maxi Rodriguez and Milan Jovanovic have all disappointed this campaign and could all conceivably leave the club over the summer.
Marc Albrighton has been one of the few positives Villa can take out of a season that has included them getting knocked out of the Europa League at the qualifying stages and losing 6-0 at newly-promoted Newcastle. They currently lie in 14th place but are just one point off the relegation zone.
There are rumours of serious unrest amongst the players at the club, who aren't keen on Gerrard Houllier or his training methods. Albrighton may also feel that, despite Villa team-mates Ashley Young and Darren Bent both starting for England at the weekend, his chances of being called up by Fabio Capello may be damaged by Villa's poor results in recent months and may welcome a move to the north west.

Both Marc Albrighton and Ashley Young at Liverpool please!!i'd even take Stewart Downing ahead of any of our (current) wingers any day of the week..with Maxi Rodriguez,Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic at the wings, you can expect more than a 6th,7th league finish..respect to Villa though who i like a lot as a club and if Ashley Young or Albrighton wanted to stay there,i'd fully respect that..we may have some great players like Steven Gerrard,Jamie Carragher,Luis Suarez,Dirk Kuyt,Andy Carroll,Pepe Reina,Daniel Agger,Glen Johnson but they surely have a bigger squad than us..i hope that come summer we can create a new top squad with the commitment of the new owners and no debts on our heads any more..we'll see..YNWA
