Rooney form means Man Utd set for title
Manchester United took a big step to the title last night with a comprehensive 3-1 win over an in-form Aston Villa.
Wayne Rooney hit two in the first-half - including one inside a minute - before Nemanja Vidic made the points safe with a brilliant goal in the second.
United are now huge [1.68] favourites to win the Premier League while their nearest challengers, Arsenal are out at [4.2].
With games at Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal coming up, United will have a hard task to maintain their unbeaten record, but should have more than enough to make sure they regain the title from the Blues.
Meanwhile, the Gunners needed a second-half comeback to defeat Everton at the Emirates after Louis Saha put the Toffees into the lead with a hotly disputed goal.
With Arsene Wenger's men showing plenty of steel to go with the style this season, backing them to finish in the top two at [1.56] could still be worth a bet.
Another bet definitely worth considering after the events of last night is backing Darren Bent to be the top English goalscorer at [2.0].
The £18 million man is just one goal behind Liverpool's £35 million man and with one shot and one goal last night, Bent showed a ruthlessness that had been missing during his final few months at Sunderland.
