Belief in Arsenal well rewarded on Betfair
Arsenal supporters mustn't have known quite how to feel on Sunday evening after their 1-0 victory over Premier League leaders Manchester United at the Emirates.
Only the most wildly optimistic Gunners fans will expect their team to win their final three games, with Manchester United losing twice and Chelsea once to hand them the title, so instead many will rue the fact they left their return to form so late to wind up helping the Blues more than themselves.
But regardless, a 1-0 triumph over the Red Devils to prove that they are capable of competing with their rivals at the top at least head-to-head if not yet over the course of a season and give Aaron Ramsey his best moment since battling back from a career-threatening injury was worth celebrating.
It was also a brilliant result for Betfair punters that had the foresight to back it as a £10 wager on that outcome provided a £85.50 profit - even accounting for the maximum five per cent commission - compared to just £65 with Victor Chandler.
Anyone that stuck the same amount on the encounter being level at half-time with Arsene Wenger's side prevailing at full-time was rewarded with a £62.70 payout, whereas Ladbrokes and BetClic customers received only £45 for an identical punt.
There was also more money to be made betting against other people on Betfair on the other match that had a major impact on the title race as Chelsea defeated Tottenham 2-1 courtesy of a Frank Lampard goal that didn't cross the line and an offside Salomon Kalou strike.
A £10 flutter on that scoreline returned £79.80, a significant increase on the £60 gained betting with Stan James. Additionally, £10 on the half-time draw/full-time Chelsea win delivered £36.10 on Betfair, while Bet365 and Stan James users were forced to settle for just £30.
Don't take our word for it though, why not test Betfair yourself using Betchecker?
