Arsenal to face Newcastle in Carling Cup
Newcastle could have been forgiven for wanting an easy time of things in the fourth round of the Carling Cup after their dramatic 4-3 victory over Chelsea in the last round.
There was no such luck for Chris Houghton's side though, as they pulled Arsenal out of the hat for their last 16 game.
News of the draw has pushed the price for both teams out fractionally. Newcastle are now out to [9.0] having been [8.6] before the draw was made, while Arsenal are out to [4.0] having been as low as [3.85].
With Arsene Wenger finally looking like he's taking the Carling Cup semi-seriously, the [4.0] looks like a decent price for them to win the competition - especially considering the Gunners have put three past the Magpies on their previous four meetings.
Betfair punters obviously don't believe Wolves ([8.0]) will be a threat at Old Trafford. Manchester United's price has come in to [2.96], making them overwhelming favourites, although Mick McCarthy will probably send out a stronger side than the one he fielded in the league last season.
The other all-Premier League tie is between West Ham United ([17.5]) and Stoke City ([17.0]). Having held the Potters 1-1 at the Britannia last weekend, the Irons could be a decent punt to win on home soil.
Elsewhere, Swansea City ([110.0]) face ex-boss Roberto Martinez's Wigan Athletic ([28.0])at the DW Stadium, Birmingham ([11.5]) will welcome Brentford ([210.0]) to St Andrew's and Northampton's ([180.0])reward for their victory over Liverpool is an away day at Ipswich Town ([30.0]).
