Arsenal braced for fresh fight for Fabregas
The Daily Mirror are reporting that the latest summer-long scrap between Arsenal and Barcelona over Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas is about to get underway, though Manchester City could be willing to provide a twist to the latest episode of the saga.
They claim that Barcelona, who are showing no sign of settling for what they've got after Saturday's Champions League Final triumph and are already close to agreeing a deal to sign Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi, maintain a strong interest in the Spanish midfielder.
Pep Guardiola is said to have told his sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta to renew efforts to bring the 24-year-old back to the Camp Nou having come the closest that they have to date last year when the World Cup winner admitted his desire to return home but was eventually convinced to stay.
The Mirror believe that Arsenal's stance will be to resist Barcelona's advances as much as they can, especially if the bidding starts where it left of 12 months ago at around the £30 million mark, however it is felt that if a huge offer is lodged, Arsene Wenger will find it too tough to turn down.
That's where Manchester City enter the equation, as the tabloid speculates that if the Champions League newcomers attempt to show their ambition by chucking £50 million in the direction of north London and demand Fabregas in return, the Gunners will be tempted to part company.
Wenger has let players leave for Eastlands in the past, yet there was a sense when they allowed Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor to do so it was because they were no longer of use to Arsenal, which obviously isn't the case with their skipper, so a greater show of resistance may be offered.
Can Arsenal take the title without Fabregas? They are [9.0] to finish top on Betfair...

There is no way that we would sell a good player to a rival premIership team. Man City wouldn't sell us Micah Richards for the same reason so they can forget about Cesc. Adebayour and Toure had outlived there purpose at Arsenal so were allowed to go and Man City were offering stupid money for them so we took it. Man City will never earn as much as they spend so they'll be kicked out of the Champions league under the new financial fair play rules. It's lose lose for them.

They can spend 35m on Rossi who is a good young forward but can't spend that same amount and have said that they won't go higher then that for arguably one of the best midfield players in the world and only 23!!! If i were Cesc i would stay at Arsenal.
