Day 102: We're backing Rotherham to win at Stockport at [1.88]
One of the best teams in League Two visit one of the worst this evening as Rotherham head west to face Stockport, and as they are just a shade under evens at [1.88] to take all three points, we couldn't resist making the Millers our Bet of the Day.
The week got off to a winning start last night as Atalanta beat Grosseto 2-0 in Serie B to help erase the memories of Friday's streak-ending loss in the same division but it's back to England tonight as Rotherham chase a fifth straight victory, one that will take them within two points of leaders Chesterfield.
Ronnie Moore's side were expected to again challenge for promotion despite suffering defeat in last season's play-off final against Dagenham and Redbridge and after an at times patchy first half of the campaign, they are hitting top form now as the likes of Port Vale, Bury and Shrewsbury begin to fall away.
Rotherham have won five of their last six matches - three against top ten clubs - to put themselves into title contention and will be confident of piling pressure on table-topping Chesterfield by seeing off struggling Stockport, who have lost three on the spin and conceded 11 goals in doing so.
Barnet, the last team in the country to triumph on their travels this season, are the only side Stockport have overcome at Edgeley Park so far, whereas Rotherham are the best on the road in League Two with an average of 1.89 points a game, five wins in nine and four clean sheets and have also been boosted by highly-rated top scorer Adam Le Fondre declaring himself happy to stay put.
