Bet of the Day - Accrington set to triumph
Day 191: We're backing Accrington to beat Stevenage at [2.08]
Heracles' 3-2 victory over Groningen on Thursday night extended our Bet of the Day winning streak to three days - our most successful streak in a long while - and rather than entrusting a short-priced favourite, we're hoping to keep the run going by backing Accrington to conquer Stevenage at [2.08].
Stanley have delivered for us on numerous occasions at the Crown Ground this season and so we are confident that they can do so once again despite losing 2-0 in the first leg of their League Two play-off semi-final against last year's Conference winners.
John Coleman's team have gone 12 home games without defeat and have won ten of their last 11, and as they beat Stevenage 1-0 when they hosted them in November, it is difficult to understand why they are priced above evens to triumph in front of their fans for the 17th time in this campaign.
Their visitors have gone three away matches without a win, losing the last two without scoring, a feat which is dreadful considering that each of their opponents were in the bottom half and they were overcome to nil on six of their seven trips to rival top-eight clubs.
Stevenage have the least prolific record of the play-off contenders and are facing the side with the second strongest home attack in the division, having netted three or more in eight of their last nine.
Our bet: We're backing Accrington to defeat Stevenage at [2.08], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £10.80. The same punt pays only £10 with Paddy Power and Sky Bet. Sign up for a new account now and have your first bet of up to £25 refunded if it loses.
