Do you want Phil Brown at Southampton?

Phil Brown could be named as the new Southampton boss by the end of this week, according to reports on Guardian.co.uk.

The ex-Hull boss went into talks with Saints chairman, Nicola Cortese on Monday and revealed to Talksport this morning that he is considering taking the job - if it's offered to him.

He said: "It was very interesting, there's a very, very ambitious board. A very ambitious chairman. It is an ambitious club and certainly one that does interest me," said Brown.

"They seem to be doing it right in the backroom: they're building the club from within and they've got a long-term plan. It's very, very ambitious. Everything about it is ready to move on,"

It sounds like the Saints are an ambitious club, and Brown certainly has the track record to suggest he can help get them promoted. However, he has proven to be a divisive character, and there has been no shortage of people lining up to take pot-shots at him following his removal from the Tigers' hot seat.

So, what we want to know is, is Phil Brown the right man to take you back up the divisions? Do you want him at St Mary's? Let us know what you think with a comment in the space below...
