Sheffield Wednesday's slump will continue
In the absence of Premier League and Championship football this weekend, League One headlines the domestic program and the clubs and TV companies are eager to take advantage by spreading the action over four days. We've looked at some of Friday, Saturday and Sunday's highlights...
MK Dons v Walsall (Friday, 7.45pm)
Karl Robinson's overachievers enjoyed the best result of their five-match winning streak on Monday as they defeated in-form Peterborough, although another tough test awaits them as a Walsall side scrapping for survival visit stadium:mk. The Saddlers have lost just once in six since sacking Chris Hutchings, however MK Dons' record of 12 wins and 11 clean sheets in 19 home games is enough to vindicating trusting them at [1.82].
Dagenham and Redbridge v Sheffield Wednesday (Saturday, 1pm)
Giving Milan Mandaric's reputation as a serial sacker - an unfair one, according to the Sheffield Wednesday chairman - Gary Megson must be getting a bit nervous right now. Three reverses in a row leave them four points shy of the relegation zone, and fellow strugglers the Daggers will be confident of adding to their woes. They've lost only twice in 11 outings and beat Charlton last week, so are worth backing again at [2.56].
Huddersfield v Notts County (Sunday, 4pm, Sky Sports 1)
With Sunday's game pairing two of the teams with the finest defensive records in the division, under 2.5 goals has to be rated one of the best bets at [1.9]. Unfortunately for the Magpies, they haven't been delivering down the other end and a Lee Hughes' goal drought has coincided with a run of just one goal in six games for the club. With Peterborough in action, Huddersfield may need to win to stay second, and have to be fancied at [1.86].
