The good, bad and barely acceptable
Rochdale's 2-0 victory over Southampton was the big Football League story of the weekend but there were plenty of interesting results elsewhere. We pick out the biggest winners and losers, as well as those who could be doing a bit better...
THE GOOD
Dagenham and Redbridge
A new milestone was achieved by everybody's favourite fairytale success story as John Still's men secured their first victory as a League One club. They beat fellow east Londoners Leyton Orient 2-0 in their first league match since selling main goal threat Paul Benson to Charlton.
Shrewsbury
We're not just including them to prematurely big up our pre-season prediction that they would win League Two, honest! The Shropshire side are top of League Two after conquering third place Rotherham, who were also unbeaten, courtesy of a rare Lionel Ainsworth strike.
THE BAD
Peterborough
Posh have been a little erratic since returning to League One and having responded to their staggering 5-1 loss to Bournemouth last month with successive victories, they let themselves down again with a 1-0 defeat to Tranmere, who had lost their previous two home matches.
Bradford ([20.0] to win League Two)
The Bantams are proving that big crowds and a manager with a decent League Two record don't guarantee a promotion push after the one-time title favourites lost 2-0 at home to Port Vale. They've taken only three points from their five games and already ten off top.
THE BARELY ACCEPTABLE
Charlton ([5.2] to win promotion)
Phil Parkinson always had his work cut out replicating last season's promotion push after losing key players over the summer but another impressive start offered hope. The Addicks have gone three without a win now though after Ryan Harley's injury-time penalty saw them lose to Exeter.
Bury
Leading 2-0 at half-time against a Gillingham team who are dreadful away, Bury eased off and allowed the visitors to fight back first to 3-3 then 4-4. Ryan Lowe scored in the 73rd minute to ensure that the Shakers still left with three points, so we won't be too hard on them!
