Bristol Rovers will grind out Swindon win

Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope has admitted the local rivalry with Swindon Town should add some extra spice to their televised encounter at the County Ground tonight.

Rovers came out on top in both of their clashes last season, winning 3-0 at home, and 4-0 away - but he expects things to be much tighter this time around.

He said: "Everything went right for us in the last two games, but we've been playing well recently and started playing some decent football.

"The local interest made winning even sweeter last season. We have a lot of new players this time around, and we're heading into the game with confidence."

After a disappointing start that saw them bag just one win in their opening six games, Rovers have hit a bit of form in recent weeks. They have now gone on to win three of their last four League One matches, and have tasted defeat just once in their previous six games.

A disappointing 12 points from their opening ten games of the League One season is not what Swindon will have been expecting after their play-off berth last season.

With only two wins in their first five home games this term, the Robins will have their work cut out to win against a Rovers side who have won their previous two away games, and are undefeated in four on the road.

Backing Bristol Rovers at a very tempting [3.9] could yield a very tidy profit.
