Villarreal poised to overtake Barcelona
The top of La Liga is starting to take a familiar shape, with Real Madrid leading the way from Valencia, with Barcelona just one point behind. None of tonight's teams can realistically challenge for the title, but there should still be some cracking games...
Villarreal v Deportivo La Coruna
After suffering an opening day defeat to Real Sociedad, Villarreal have gone on to win their last two games, including an impressive 4-0 win over Espanyol. Finding the net has been the main problem for Deportivo La Coruna, meanwhile - they have drawn all three of their opening games in the league, failing to score in two of them. Villarreal only lost three home games in the league last season - and two of those were against Real Madrid and Barcelona. A win for the home side would see them move above Barcelona on goal difference, so backing them to win to nil at [2.82] against the goal-shy visitors could be well worth a punt.
Sevilla v Racing Santander
Three games into the new season and Sevilla can be rather pleased with how things have gone. Two wins and a draw leave them in fourth place, while Racing are languishing in 17th place with a win and two defeats. However, don't let the table fool you, Racing have played both Barcelona and Valencia so far this term - losing both games - but comfortably beat Real Zaragoza 2-0 in their other game. We still think Sevilla will come through, but it will be close. Back Sevilla at [1.58] and under 2.5 goals at [2.14].
Getafe v Malaga
Conceding eight goals in your opening three games isn't the ideal start, but it's what Malaga have had to face up to this term. Getafe haven't exactly been watertight at the back either, conceding an average of two goals a game so far. Getafe have only kept three clean sheets in their last 12 home games, so over 2.5 goals at [1.99] could be worth a couple of quid. But who will win? With only three away wins in their previous 25 attempts for Malaga, it's hard to see past a home win at a very tempting [1.9].
