The Betfair Football £10 Bet of the Day
Day 99: We're backing Villarreal to beat Valencia at [2.3]
As we approach our 100th day of betting, things are looking rather rosy in the £10 Bet of the Day garden.
Chelsea's 1-0 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers last night meant our bet on under 2.5 goals came in and made it six wins in a row for the first time this season.
For our bet today, we're looking to Spain and the Copa del Rey in the hope of making it a magnificent seven in a row.
There is little to choose between Villarreal and Valencia in La Liga this season. Villarreal are just five points and one place ahead of tonight's visitors and their first meeting in the cup this season (this is a second leg tie) saw them play out a goalless draw at Valencia.
However, Valencia's away record in the past few months leaves a lot to be desired. They have won just two of their last eight on the road in all competitions and one of those was against a Spanish second tier side, while the other came courtesy of a last minute winner from Aritz Aduriz.
Villarreal have lost just once in 23 home games - and that was against Barcelona - so backing them to extend that run and make it four straight wins looks to be well worth a punt at [2.3].
Our bet: We're backing Villarreal to beat Valencia at [2.3], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £10.30. Sign up for a new account now and have losing bets up to a total of £30 refunded for a week.
