Real Madrid linked with move for Aguero
Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero will be heading across the Spanish capital to sign for hated neighbours Real Madrid this summer, according to a story in Madrid-based sports newspaper AS.
They run with the rumour that was doing the rounds on popular radio station Cadena SER on Monday night that the nine-time European champions have agreed to meet their neighbours £30 million release clause for the 22-year-old Argentine international at the end of the current campaign.
It is also reported that if the club do decide to sell Karim Benzema during pre-season, they will pay the hefty release clause on the contract of Fernando Llorente, the Athletic Bilbao striker that Jose Mourinho is believed to be a huge fan of.
The Special One's long-term future is still far from secure as his relationship with general director Jorge Valdano is increasingly fractious, with recent speculation suggesting that Mourinho has banned the Argentine, who works closely with president Florentino Perez, from the dressing room.
It also remains unclear whether Real Madrid will bring in the striker that Mourinho craves so badly this month, as their attempts to re-sign Ruud van Nistelrooy haven't been well received by his current employers Hamburg, much to the Dutch veteran's annoyance, according to his agent.
Talk that out-of-favour Manchester City attacker will be arriving at the Bernabeu on loan until the end of the season has grown louder on Tuesday, with there even being murmurings that a deal could be completed within the next few hours, however there has been no comment from the Premier League side.
