The best punts for the big week ahead

This week's midweek line-up isn't the most lively ever yet there are two televised Johnstone's Paint Trophy matches to keep us going ahead of a busy night of Euro 2012 qualifying on Friday...

Tuesday
MK Dons v Charlton (live on Sky Sports 2, kick-off 7.15pm)
Charlton left it late to beat MK Dons at The Valley last Tuesday but we expect a different outcome when they visit stadium:mk in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The combination of MK Dons unbeaten home record under the Football League's youngest boss Karl Robinson, Charlton's failure to win a match outside of London so far this season and their dismal recent run in cup competitions suggests that the hosts are the team to back.

Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday v Chesterfield (live on Sky Sports 2, kick-off 7.15pm)
Chesterfield's automatic promotion push fell apart last season and they ended up missing out on even the play-offs, but that hasn't stopped them from starting the new League Two campaign in fine form, whereas Sheffield Wednesday have gone off the rails recently in the league above. Much of Chesterfield's success has come at their new B2net Stadium though, so the Owls will fancy their chances of progress.

Friday
Wales v Bulgaria (live on Sky Sports 3, kick-off 7.30pm)
Caretaker boss Brian Flynn is the [3.3] favourite to assume full-time control of the Welsh national team, however he's been dealt a pretty horrific hand for his trial period, tough tests against Bulgaria and Switzerland without captain Craig Bellamy. It's a good time to face Bulgaria though, who are bottom of the group after two losses in which they failed to score, and they can be backed at [2.34].
