Flynn given two-game Wales job audition

Current Wales Under-21 coach Brian Flynn is in to [2.36] to succeed John Toshack as manager of the senior side after the FAW confirmed that he will take charge of next month's tough Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland.

The former Wrexham and Swansea boss is one of the few men to have expressed interest in taking the job and he has said that he hopes to use his caretaker spell to show that he deserves to be appointed full-time.

He said: "Naturally, as a very proud Welshman, this is a job that I have always wanted to do. I realise that initially it is only for two games, but I shall give it my all to try and achieve results and stake a claim for the job on a permanent basis."

With Tony Pulis, Kenny Jackett, Gary Speed and Ryan Giggs all either distancing themselves from speculation or outright dismissing their candidacy, it looks like being a two-way scrap for the position between Flynn and former Fulham chief Chris Coleman, who remains the [2.36] favourite.

John Hartson has also applied but at [17.5] is expected to miss out, while Martin O'Neill is also a presence in the market at [11.5], though we simply cannot see that one happening.

Who do you think Wales should turn to? Is Flynn unfortunate to be given two of the trickiest qualifiers to prove his worth? Have your say below...
