The best punts for the big week ahead

Germany Photo

As always, we start the week with a glance at some of the best betting opportunities available over the next few days. Will England win the battle of Group G's 100 per cent record holders? Will Wales lose again? Will Borussia Dortmund go joint-top in Germany? We've had an early glance at their matches...

Tuesday
England v Montenegro (live on ITV1, kick-off 8pm)
Switzerland and Bulgaria were expected to be England's toughest opponents in Group G but after seeing both off fairly comfortably, it looks like Montenegro - who have beaten everybody else in the group already - could provide the trickiest test. The Three Lions have been untouchable at home over the past year or so though, while Montenegro have only recorded one competitive away win, which is why England are [1.24] favourites.

Tuesday
Switzerland v Wales (live on Sky Sports 2, kick-off 7.30pm)
Wales being pointless two games into Euro 2012 qualifying isn't a huge shock but the fact that it's Switzerland keeping them company at the bottom of Group G is, given that they beat Spain a few months ago and have participated in the last four international tournaments. Ottmar Hitzfeld will be confident of getting three points on the board in this fixture though, and his side are [1.48] to do so.

Friday
Koln v Borussia Dortmund (live on ESPN, kick-off 7.30pm)
Draw away to underperforming Bayern Munich aside, Koln have started this season in a manner that suggests another bottom-half finish is an inevitability. There's little hope of their fortunes changing against soaring Dortmund, who will pull level with Mainz on top of the table if they follow last Sunday's defeat of Bayern Munich with a seventh straight Bundesliga victory. They're [1.86] to triumph.
