Negative forum reaction to Terry captaincy
According to 66 per cent of voters on the Betfair football forum beta, Fabio Capello has made a mistake giving the England captaincy back to John Terry. Here's what the posters on the forum are saying about the controversial decision...
"Absolutely shocking. We always look dodgy at the back when he plays, the lack of pace is massively exposed at international level and he is massively luckily to make the team. Okay, he might have done well for his team years ago but he's a liability now." - TheHonestScouser
"He's the obvious choice for captain. He's a great defender and a natural leader. But whoever was captain, why can't we all just get behind the team instead of slating them over who's captain and who's not, and who's playing and who's not?" - Panther65
"His playing abilities don't merit a starting spot, no matter how many people are injured. Terry is slow, gets away with murder in the Premier League and is royally found out against tippy-tappy football allied to pace. Birmingham and Bolton have better centre backs than Terry." - 4.8 and rising
"He's our best leader. Perhaps not the nicest off the field but on the pitch you want him on your side. Anyone saying different clearly just hates the man's off-field activities (which I do)." - bornisthekingofSB
"He is the only England player who played at the World Cup who has been superb this season. He's been Chelsea's player of the year without doubt this season." - A H HUNTER
"Name an English player that is captaincy material and played well in the World Cup..." - freddiek
