Guingamp v Marseille (4pm)
Eight years ago, Guingamp were a top-half Ligue 1 team, but this is their seventh season in the lower leagues and they fell into the third tier over the summer. It's not all been doom and gloom though, they sensationally won the French Cup for the first time in 2008-09 and that cup pedigree perhaps explains why holders Marseille are a lengthy [1.82] to win this unusually early kick-off.
Admittedly, Guingamp reached the quarter-finals of this competition last term, where they suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Toulouse in January, who remain the last side to beat them at the Stade du Roudourou, however Marseille are flying right now and chasing a fourth straight success, so take advantage of the French title favourites' tasty odds.
Lyon v PSG (7.45pm)
French football's most consistent underachievers were the form club in the country heading into Sunday's home game against struggling Auxerre in which victory would have lifted them to second. Predictably enough, despite leading within a minute, they wound up 3-2 losers so the League Cup, which they've won three times before, is probably their best chance of silverware.
Lyon are beginning to threaten PSG's crown as kings of underperformance and their dismal domestic campaign hit a new low on Sunday as they drew with relegation near-certainties Arles-Avignon. Their visitors have got the better of them just once in 13 meetings though, which indicates that the hosts should be backed at [2.04].
