The Betfair Football £10 Bet of the Day
Day 196: We're backing Volgar-Gazprom to beat Khimki at [2.64]
After a dismal few weeks, our Bet of the Day form has recovered in style courtesy of six generously priced winners in eight days which have helped take the overall profit margin back up over the £100 mark, and we're eager to build on that success to get the Bank Holiday weekend off to a flying start.
In order to do so we're returning to the division that provided two of our three recent triumphs - the Russian second tier - and even backing one of the teams responsible for our current run once again - Volgar-Gazprom - as they host a Khimki side that are just three points better off.
That's no margin at all when you consider that Volgar-Gazprom were not long ago trapped in a five-match losing streak, and it has to be expected that having bounced back from that convincingly with a 2-0 victory over Fakel, they will enter this afternoon's encounter with a renewed sense of freedom.
They have every right to be confident of claiming three points too, given that they have delivered in three of their five home games despite their slow start to the season, whereas Khimki have collected only two points from their five away outings to date and are on a six-fixture winless streak at present.
That record is inexcusable in the context of who they have been facing, as they have failed to see off two mid-table clubs as hosts in their last two matches and prior to that were held to a goalless draw at basement boys Luch Vladivostok. Back Volgar-Gazprom to add to their misery at [2.64].
Our bet: We're backing Volgar-Gazprom to defeat Khimki at [2.64], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £16.40. The same punt pays only £12.50 with Ladbrokes. Sign up for a new account now and have your first bet of up to £25 refunded if it loses.
