Day 192: We're backing Assyriska to beat Brommapojkarna at [2.02]
Assyrinska have cultivated a reputation as the bridesmaids of the Swedish Superettan in recent years, finishing in the top four in each of the last three seasons without once gaining promotion to the Allsvenskan, so their fans won't get carried away by their current position at the top of the table.
They have been hugely impressive in the early stages of the latest campaign though, winning five of their first seven matches, and while they lost for the first time last week away to Brage, their home form over the last 12 months has been strong enough to indicate that they should bounce back.
The pacesetters have hosted 14 games in that period and have only been defeated once, coming out on top on ten occasions and keeping clean sheets in all three so far this term, indicating that [2.02] is a generous price on them holding firm in first place with victory over relegated Brommapojkarna.
While in theory a clash with a recent top-flight club should prove problematic, Brommapojkarna have found it difficult adapting to life back in the second tier and getting out of the habit of losing every week, especially on their travels where they have collected just one point from a possible nine.
Given their record on the road when dropping out of the Allsvenskan, it means they have gone 14 in a row without an away triumph. Assyrinska's last few results against them have been poor, but they have won three and draw two of their last six at home to them, so back them to make it 15 tonight.
Our bet: We're backing Assyriska to defeat Broomapojkarna at [2.02], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £10.20. The same punt pays only £8 with Boylesports. Sign up for a new account now and have your first bet of up to £25 refunded if it loses.
