Day 153: We're backing Ayr to beat Forfar at [1.92]
Tuesday's attempt to make money from the action north of the border didn't quite go to plan but with so little football actually taking place right now, we're returning to Scotland for Wednesday's £10 wager and putting our money on Ayr overcoming Forfar in Division Two at [1.92].
Both clubs are in the play-off positions at the moment and are on course to stay there, however Ayr are six points better off than their visitors despite having played a game fewer and can be expected to extend that advantage when welcoming them to Somerset Park this evening.
Ayr have won four and drawn one of their last six meetings, including each of the last two that they have hosted, while they are currently enjoying their joint-best run of the entire campaign having triumphed in three successive fixtures, two of which occurred on their travels.
Forfar though are in worrying form, following a dire 3-0 loss at East Fife with a 4-0 home hammering at the hands of leaders Livingston. Their away record has been decent this season but recent results have been poor, with just one goal and one point to show from their last four matches on the road.
By contrast, Ayr have eight victories in 11 in front of their fan and after a wobble in February are now back to their best, winning their last two home encounters without conceding. That's enough to convince us that they can be trusted again tonight.
