The Betfair Football £10 Bet of the Day
Day 120: We're backing under 2.5 goals when Bursaspor host Sivasspor at [1.98]
The Bet of the Day's phenomenal start to 2011 has continued with another unbeaten week so far, while only one of our last ten £10 daily wagers has been a loser.
After successive wins at a shade above evens, we're going for a bet just below that mark tonight by backing under 2.5 goals in the Turkish Super Lig clash between champions Bursaspor and relegation-threatened Sivasspor at the reasonable price of [1.98].
It didn't take long for former Rangers striker Kenny Miller to start scoring in Turkey as he netted in just his second appearance for Bursaspor against Galatasaray last weekend in a 2-0 victory that halted the Istanbul-based giants' recovery in a season that has echoed Liverpool's struggles in England.
But while the Scottish striker is a constant threat, his team are hardly prolific, netting 34 times in 19 league games, a tally that significantly trails that of chief title rivals Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce. Remarkably, given their recent success, they haven't scored more than twice in a home match in over 11 months, a period in which they have played over 20 fixtures at the Bursa Ataturk Stadium.
And if Bursaspor don't score more than twice, a clean sheet will be enough to ensure a triumphant punt, and they've kept the opposition quiet in each of their last two games, as well as not conceding in their last three meetings with Sivasspor, whose last six league outings have all featured two goals or fewer.
Our bet: We're backing under 2.5 goals between Bursaspor and Sivasspor at [1.98], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £9.80. The same punt pays only £8 with Coral. Sign up for a new account now and have losing bets up to a total of £30 refunded for a week.
Overall profit: £120.20
