We made the most of this weekend's relatively thin domestic schedule by picking out four bets on matches taking place in Spain and Italy. Each one delivered, providing a £65 profit to those who followed us!

Like most football fans, we tend to prefer weekends dominated by domestic football over international breaks because there's usually far more to bet on, however we learned to embrace the advantages that a gap in the regular season provides.

The paucity of Saturday and Sunday action led us to look abroad at the main matches in the second-tiers in Spain and Italy, where we provided four tips on games involving relatively well-known teams such as Real Betis, Tenerife, Siena and Torino.

Each of our recommended punts were priced above evens and all four proved victorious, meaning that if you stuck a tenner on each of our suggestions then you'd be starting off the week £65 better off.

Click here to check out what we backed - and stay tuned for our preview of next weekend's televised European encounters, which will be live on the site on Thursday.
