The best of the Betfair football forum
The Champions League is over for another week and there has been plenty of comment about the action on the Betfair football forum over the past couple of days. Here's some of our favourites...
"Arsenal were in the position to go to Shakhtar last night and experiment with the team, knowing if the worst happened it's all still in our own hands, we are still top of the group. Some players got game time, others gained experience. It's not ideal to lose, but we have to look at the bigger picture, Shakhtar are a useful outfit at home and a win against Newcastle on Sunday takes priority." - Phill Urboots
"We should have won that last night after going ahead. For Wenger to openly criticise the way we didn't concentrate and became complacent shows how angry he was with it." - Arsene
"Gareth Bale a poor version of Glen Johnson looks silly but couldn't do anything against proper defenders (Rafael and Brown) on Saturday against Man Utd. Get a grip!" - Far From Trouble
"Gabriel Obertan has hardly been given a chance yet. He's tall quick and two-footed. Some people think that if a player isn't charging around demented a la Rooney or innumerable other British donkeys, that they are not trying and have no character. Would it ever occur people that maybe Ferguson wants him to stay high up the pitch to use his pace on the counter? " - Neill D
"If it had been Messi on the receiving end of that kung-fu kick from Valdes there would have been an international incident." - Nobby Clarke
