Another clean sheet for Aldershot will have pleased our man Ben Herd.

No League Two action this weekend for Ben as Aldershot secured a 0-0 FA Cup draw against League One opposition Tranmere. After the match he caught up with the opposition's young and very promising goalkeeper Luke Daniels.

"Everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I am no different. I don't believe in setting yourself targets, I feel it puts unnecessary pressure on you and sets yourself up for a fall."

This week saw us put our League campaign on hold and take on Tranmere Rovers in the 2nd round of the FA cup. Once again, in what were not really ideal conditions, we managed to put on a solid display and end up with another clean sheet, which is always pleasing as a defender; the match finished 0-0. Despite not being on League Two duty this week, I still managed to catch a word with an opposition player and this week's interviewee is Luke Daniels. Luke is currently on loan from West Bromwich Albion, and the young keeper has been tipped for a bright future in the game. Here is what he had to say to betting.betfair.com.

What did you think of today's game?

Not the best if I am honest. Both teams had spells with the ball, but chances weren't really created at either end. A bit like yourself as a defender, for a goalkeeper, it is always pleasing keeping a clean sheet, but I suppose something has to give in the replay, with the carrot of Premier League opposition in the next round. (The winner of the replay hosts Wolves in the Third Round)

John Barnes, the man who brought you to Tranmere, is no longer in charge and your physio is your current manager. How are you finding your loan spell at Tranmere?

It has been eventful to say the least! Obviously, there have been off the field issues going on around the club, which haven't made things any easier, and being in a bit of a relegation fight certainly hasn't helped. However, the important thing is I am gaining experience all the time and this can only help me develop as a young pro. As for having the physio as the manager, it's not something you really think will happen, but here we are and as long as he is the manager, he will get all of the lads' respect.

Was it a case of you asking to go out on loan, or did West Brom dictate that you go out on loan?

A bit of both really. West Brom obviously have a very good goalkeeper in Scott Carson, so they wanted me to get more experience for another season. I didn't want to be playing second fiddle either this season and knock about in the reserves. I did have a few options as clubs to go to, but John Barnes approached me and persuaded me that Tranmere was the right place for me to come and play. Also, after testing myself at League Two level last year, I wanted to take a step up to League One.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years time?

Everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I am no different. I don't believe in setting yourself targets, I feel it puts unnecessary pressure on you and sets yourself up for a fall. I believe that if I work hard at my game, train and play well, then I am quite happy to see where that takes me.

Are there any good young players worth keeping an eye on at Tranmere?

Yeah, a couple I think could have a big future in the game: Joe Collister, a young goalkeeper who has come in and done well when I have been injured. Plus Ash Taylor, again another young player with a bright future - he's a good holding midfielder.
