Mastercraftsman is one of the European bankers of the meeting and should have too much class for Pyro.
Mastercraftsman is one of the European bankers of the meeting and should have too much class for Pyro. Furthest Land could represent some value in the place market.
Mastercraftsman: One of the leading British 3-y-os with 4 wins to his name at the top level. Warmed up for this with an authoritative success on his first start away from turf last month and looks the one to beat from a favourable inside draw.
Furthest Land: Much improved in 2009, staying on well to win 9f Grade 2 at Turfway Park last time. Needs another step forward to get competitive here but still relatively unexposed.
Midshipman : No stronger to the Breeders' Cup having won last year's Juvenile when with Bob Baffert, but suffered a leg injury after, and this is much tougher than the non-graded race he won on his belated comeback at Belmont in September.
Bullsbay: Getting better with age and made breakthrough into top level this term, winning 9f Whitney handicap at Saratoga. No Rachel Alexandra to contend with here as he had last time but will still likely need a career-best to prevail.
Neko Bay : Not had much racing for his age and won non-graded race over course and distance on belated reappearance last month. His form is someway short of what will be required to win here, however.
Mambo Meister: Consistent performer at a smart level, winning 1m 4-runner Grade 3 at Calder last month. Surprise if he's good enough to take a hand here though on his first try on a synthetic surface.
Pyro : Could only finish sixth in this twelve months ago but arrives this time on the back of a career-best having won the Grade 1 Forego at Saratoga. Looks the one most likely to take advantage should Mastercraftsman not give his running.
Mr Sidney: Has improved in leaps and bounds this year, winning 3 times over this trip including in Grade 1-company. This is by far his toughest assignment to date, however.
Chocolate Candy : Beaten just a length in 9f Santa Anita Derby back in April, but seems to have reached his peak, and comfortably held in Goodwood Stakes at this track last month.
Ready's Echo : Capable performer but has poor wins to runs ratio and best effort came over 7f.
